June 2014 --- Post-Doctoral Fellowship available:

We seek a strongly motivated post-doctoral researcher for developing high-quality theoretical and numerical investigations of plasma dynamics in ITER-relevant scenarios, with preferential focus on at least one of the following topics: (i) fast particle physics, with emphasis on the interaction between Alfvén waves and energetic particles; (ii) first principles modelling of turbulent transport. The researcher is expected to be able to carry out independent work, while actively engaging with on-going research activities at the Theory and Modelling group of IPFN.  


The value of of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship is 1495€ per month (tax free), in accordance with the regulations set by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (see here). The duration of the position is 12 months, renewable for another 12 months.

The evaluation procedure consists of the analysis of the above documents (worth 60%) plus an interview with the candidate (worth 40%; the interview can take place in person, via video-conference or phone).  All candidates will be notified by email of the final decision.
