Resumo
A dedicated control and data acquisition system for the multiple cell array detector (MCAD) of the heavy ion beam diagnostic of the TJ-II stellarator has been developed, based on-site developed VME modules and Linux. The system architecture (software and hardware) and implementation aspects are described in this paper. The hardware is composed by: (i) a VME host running Linux; (ii) four CFN transient recorder boards; (iii) one on-site developed analogue output board; (iv) one commercial 32 bit TTL I/O M-Module mezzanine. The software for the active control of both the primary and secondary beam lines is constituted by two major components: (i) a server daemon that runs on the VME host which receives the waveforms to be programmed and operation parameters and controls the board operation; (ii) clients applications (with graphical user interface) that run on the control room PC's. The software for the MCAD acquisition system is constituted by a daemon that controls acquisition and inserts the acquired data (and acquisition parameters) in the TJ-II database and a graphical application that allows easy configuration of all acquisition parameters.
