Resumo

A real-time pulse height analysis (PHA) X-ray diagnostic for the TCV tokamak has been developed using CFN multi-DSP-based VME acquisition, processing and control board. The hardware is composed by: (i) a VME host running Linux; (ii) a on-site developed VME module having 4 APC (Acquisition, Processing and Control) channels. A support library to the VME module has been developed. The software is constituted by two main applications. The first is a special external triggered acquisition application (MSCOPE) which allows a programmable number of samples in each trigger. This application is very useful to analyse the acquired data. The other main application is a software daemon that receives the diagnostic parameters and programmes the VME module according to the parameters received. The daemon also reads all the resulting data from the VME module and stores it in a local MDSplus tree (diagnostic configuration parameters are also stored). The local tree is then mirrored to the central TCV tree. Both applications were developed based on a common state machine that follows standard TCV operation states.
