Submission of the 4-page contribution
The four-page contributions should be written in clear English, in A4 size
(21.0 x 29.5 cm) with a full 2.5 cm margin on all four
sides, using 12 pts letter-type for words and one-and-half line spacing.
The title (in capitals) as well as the authors and their affiliations must be
included on the top of the text.
The contributed papers should be submitted electronically between
28th May and 17th June 2001 to our web server running the
Elise software <http://elise.cfn.ist.utl.pt>. You
can obtain the users guide for this software in PDF format here, but probably you will not need it
because the server has plenty of instructions online.
Usernames used for abstract submission will not be deleted. Please enter as
registered user if you remember your login information.
Papers can be submitted in Postscript or PDF formats. Submission must allways be initiated on the webpage. The advised method for uploading the files is using the web browser. Upload using FTP is also possible but we suggest not to use this method unless 'direct upload' in the web browser doesn't work.
The new PDF version 1.4 isn't supported. If you are using a rather new software, namely ®Adobe 5, for producing the PDF files for submission, please check the settings of your PDF program to assure that the files you upload are in version 1.3 or older.
Uploaded files will be checked for length and format automatically. After
modification the file should be uploaded again. The procedure should be
repeated until no errors are found by the program and the author is satisfied
with the proof.
Sometimes Elise seems to be too strict on the verification of
margins, refusing documents which supposedly should have margins of 2.5 cm. If
that happens to you, we suggest you to increase the margins by some tenths of
mm.
Submission by email isn't available anymore directly in Elise. If you really aren't able to upload and confirm your contribution in Elise, please send the your contribution by email to the Secretariat (eps2001@cfn.ist.utl.pt). Please use this later method only as the last resource, i.e., after trying several times in different hours of the day to do the submission directly in Elise. Please check carefully format rules described above and try sticking to Arial/Helvetica and Times fonts or some much similar.
For back-up a camera-ready copy of the 4-page papers must be handed in at
the registration desk at the conference.
