Fusion Technology Forum

The SOFT 2010 Local Organizing Committee is very pleased to host the Fusion Technology Forum exhibition. The Forum brings together industry, research laboratories and institutions active in fusion technology. Within the long standing tradition of the SOFT, the Fusion Technology Forum is a unique opportunity for decision makers to get in touch with the latest technological developments.

Companies and research institutes are invited to this forum to display their activities in the fields of plasma heating, plasma control, diagnostics, data acquisition, magnets, superconductors, power supplies, plasma facing components, materials technology, etc.


As an exhibitor, you can reach many attendees having specific interest in your product or service offerings. All registered exhibitors will be listed in the Conference Programme handed out to all SOFT participants. A link to your website will be provided from the SOFT 2010 website shortly after you have finalized your registration.


Symposium and exhibition venue

The Fusion Technology Forum is located in the main conference venue inside the area for coffee breaks and snacks to maximize contact between the attendees and the exhibitors. The location is: West Ground Floor, Alfândega Congress Center, Porto.


The exhibition will be open throughout the Symposium as follows:

Monday, Sept. 27 09:00 – 18:00

Tuesday, Sept. 28 09:00 – 18:00

Wednesday, Sept. 29 09:00 – 13:00

Thursday, Sept. 30 09:00– 18:00

Friday, Oct. 1 09:00 – 13:00

The final opening hours are subject to change until the scientific programme has been defined.


Booth charge and payment for industrial exhibitors

The charge for one 9 m2 booth is € 600 + VAT


Full booth payment should be made with the reservation. Booths will be assigned to exhibitors in order of receipt of payment. Please note that booth space cannot be assigned until the payment and registration form are received.


The booth charge includes basic shell scheme described underneath. Exhibitor may bring own structure instead of the basic structure but this does not entitle to any monetary compensation. All exhibitor’s own structures need to be approved in advance by the SOFT 2010 exhibition management.


One booth charge includes:

• back and side walls (height 250 cm)

• two chairs and one table

• fascia with company name on fascia board with requested name within a limited number of characters (around 21 characters)

• lighting

• 220 volt/max 1,5 kW outlet

• per each booth (9 m2) two persons will be allowed.


 The booth charge also includes:

- Access of two persons to all conference premises;

- Coffee breaks;

- Welcome reception, conference tour and conference dinner;


Addtional participants to companies with a booth

As we understand that more companies may be represented and may wish to have their representatives at the event, additional registrants will have a special fee of 200 euros. The registration gives access to the welcome reception , coffee breaks, conference tour, and conference dinner, as well as the conference.

• additional tickets for Welcome Reception and tickets for Symposium Banquet are available on surcharge

Participants from companies without a booth (or not represented at national initiatives booths)

As we understand that companies may want to participate and may wish to have their representatives at the event without having a booth, participation will be possible at a fee of 300 euros. The registration gives access to the welcome reception , coffee breaks, conference tour, and conference dinner, as well as the conference.

Please note that all material shipped from outside EU is obliged to customs procedures, being therefore subject to a payment of customs duty (calculated on a case-by-case basis). In such case the shipment should be accompanied by a detailed content list. 


Transportation from storage to the conference venue will be charged based on the stored material volume.

SOFT Business to Business Meetings

ITER Industry Liaison Officers ( offer to European industrial companies the possibility to promote their skills, establish business contacts and develop industrial partnerships, through the organization of:

  • Individual Business meetings between interested industrial companies
  • and presentations from potential prime contractors on ITER project.

Taking part to the B2B meetings and attending the Prime Contractors workshop is free of charges, for companies registered to SOFT as Conference attendees or as exhibitors. Registration on line and information: (from 26 July)
