Stanford's Ranking of Most Influential Scientists
More than 150 scientists from Instituto Superior Técnico are featured in the list of the 200,000 most cited researchers globally, according to a 2023 ranking by Stanford University, published by Elsevier. Several researchers from IPFN were recognised for their significant contributions to plasma physics and nuclear fusion, placing them among the top 2% most influential scientists worldwide.
At IPFN, researchers Carlos Matos Ferreira, Diogo R. Ferreira, Jorge Loureiro, José T. Mendonça, Luís Oliveira e Silva, Mikhail Benilov, and Vasco Guerra were recognised for their outstanding contributions. Additionally, José T. Mendonça, Luís Lemos Alves, Luís Oliveira e Silva, Mikhail Benilov, and Vasco Guerra were further honoured for the exceptional impact of their long-standing scientific careers.
