20th European Fusion Physics Workshop

The 20th European Fusion Physics Workshop (EFPW20) took place from 3 to 5 December 2012 at the Hotel Vila Galé in Ericeira, Portugal, and was hosted by the Association EURATOM - Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). The title of the workshop was 'Power Exhaust in Fusion Devices: from Conventional to Innovative Solutions'.

ANIMMA 2015

Nuclear instrumentation and measurement methods in nuclear environments are key aspects that contribute to the quality of scientific programmes in the fields of physics, energy, the fuel cycle and waste management. Furthermore, measurements relying on nuclear physics now play an important role in various fields of application such as biology, medicine and the environment.

AOP 2017

The III International Conference on Applications in Optics and Photonics (AOP 2017) will be held in Faro, Portugal, from the 8th to the 12th of May 2017. It will be the major optics conference in Portugal next year and one of the most important at world level, aiming at discuss the recent progress and to establish a view on the future of all fields of optics and photonics.

Colloquium: Plasma non-equilibrium at work: key to success of energy technologies?

Richard van de Sanden is the Director of the Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research (DIFFER), seeking to build the interdisciplinary networks capable of solving the score of the scientific questions involved. His research efforts are focused on two themes: solar fuels for sustainable energy storage and transport, and fusion as a clean, safe and inexhaustible power source.

Crash Course on Parallel Computing for Fusion - 24h Tecnico.ULisboa

The Crash Course on Parallel Computing for Fusion - 24h Tecnico.ULisboa is a course intended for Master and PhD students with a fusion-relevant study topic, that have some previous knowledge on programming but want to learn and increase their skills in advanced computing, in particular parallelisation.

ECLIM 2024 - 37th European Conference on Laser Interaction with Matter

We are pleased to announce the 37th European Conference on Laser Interaction with Matter (ECLIM 2024), to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, on September 16-20, 2024. ECLIM is a biennial conference hosted in Europe representing, since its first edition in 1966, a historic meeting for scientists working on the physics of laser-matter interaction with emphasis on laser fusion, laser-produced plasmas, particle generation and acceleration, laser-driven X-ray and EUV sources. The Conference is aimed to stimulate the development of research in the broad field of laser-matter interactions using high-power lasers, offering the opportunity to present and discuss new results and projects in a rather informal atmosphere. Place: IST Congress Centre, Alameda Campus, Lisbon

ECPD 2019

The European Conference on Plasma Diagnostics is a biennial event which aims at bringing together physicists or other scientists working on diagnostics for magnetic confinement fusion, beam plasmas and inertial fusion, low-temperature and industrial plasmas, and basic and astrophysical plasmas. The third edition of the Conference will take place in Lisbon, Portugal starting from 6th and finishing on 10th of May 2019.

EFTC 2015

The 16th edition of the European Fusion Theory Conference was held in Lisbon, Portugal, between the 5th and the 8th of October of 2015. The aim of the conference is to provide a discussion forum covering all areas of fusion-oriented theoretical activities.

EPS 2015

This conference continues a series of plasma physics conferences organized by the European Physical Society (EPS) covering the wide field of plasma physics, from nuclear fusion research to low temperature plasmas, as well as space and astrophysical plasmas.
