IPFN researchers seconded to ITER Organization

IPFN researchers Isabel Nunes, Luis Meneses and Christophe Guilleamaut started their secondment to ITER Organization  last November 1st.

They are among the first team of five to be selected through an international call, and seconded to ITER by the research units of the fusion programme. The team will work on the optimization of operation scenarios and on the development of diagnostics.

This selection follows the signature last summer of a Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between IST and ITER Organization. This agreement allows making available, on a temporary basis, suitably qualified and experienced staff with hands-on experience and further skills development in different technical and non-technical fields of expertise to the ITER Organization within the framework of the ITER Project Associate (IPA) Scheme.

It is expected that the participation of these researchers is only the first step for a very fruitful collaboration, and that many other IPFN members will soon join them.

Congratulations to all three!
