ATHENS course on Plasma Science and Technology

The latest edition of the IST ATHENS course on Plasma Science and Technology took place from November 11-17.

The course, organised by IPFN, was attended by 16 students coming from higher education institutions in France, Italy, Holland, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic and Portugal. They were exposed to the fundamentals of plasma physics and its technological applications through theory classes and hands-on modules.

The program included topics such as plasmas in nature, fluid and kinetic theories, plasma applications, plasma probes, workshops and a visit to the ISTTOK tokamak.

The ATHENS Network is made up of 15 leading European technological universities. The Network organises intensive short-duration courses at each member institution.
